Submit an Online Remembrance
Even if you are unable to float a lantern in person at the ceremony at Ala Moana Beach, you can still send a remembrance to be floated on your behalf.
Your remembrance will be transcribed and affixed to the wood-framed Collective Remembrance Lanterns and floated for you by volunteers on canoes during the ceremony.
If you reside in Hawaiʻi or near a Shinnyo-en temple or training center, we encourage you to personally handwrite your remembrances in person.
Note: Submitting a message here does not mean that you are reserving an Individual Lantern for the day of the ceremony.
View this year’s submitted remembrances on the Submitted Remembrances page.
