Everyone is welcome to be a part of our volunteer ʻohana.
Volunteers assist in preparing lanterns beginning in the spring, helping with duties on event day, and cleaning and refurbishing lanterns in June. Each step is carefully done with reverence for those being remembered as well as those who are honoring them.
You do not need to volunteer to receive a lantern to float, and those who volunteer on the event day do not float their own lanterns.
To become part of our volunteer ʻohana, get in touch using our contact form with subject line “Volunteer Inquiries”.
You may also keep in touch by joining our Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi Volunteer ʻOhana Facebook group.
