You might have noticed Kate Cagle and her red glasses on some of our volunteering recap videos. She’s a beloved member of our volunteer ʻohana and we’re glad that Living 808 was able to share her story with all of you. Kate does it all, from lantern assembly and clean up, to assisting on ceremony day, to handwriting remembrances submitted from all around the world.
Kate has experienced her own loss and now finds meaning in helping others heal from their grief. In the interview, she recalls the story of how she helped two soldiers find solace at the Lantern Assembly Tent during the ceremony.
